Dear Dr. Carol,
Someone told me about a new product called Willpower in a Bottle. I've had a weight problem all of my life and have been prone to "yo-yo" dieting. I've given up hope that anything can work. Why should I try this one?
I would encourage you to give Willpower in a Bottle a try because its proprietary formulation is different from anything else in the marketplace today. WPIAB addresses both the “brain” and “body” aspects of weight management. The unique ingredients are absolutely safe, yet help to satisfy the reward center of the brain. This helps reduce cravings without the use of harmful stimulants. These ingredients increase energy and improve mood so that there should be no diet blues, jitters, or headaches. Another ingredient, a perfectly safe antioxidant, contributes to the physical aspects of weight management. Because it promotes thermogenesis, fat burning within the cells, WPIAB helps reduce appetite, yet increases energy. The food manufacturers have studied and researched the science of human appetite for decades. Foods that put weight on us contain lots of sugar, salt and fat. These foods really do influence our appetite control center in the brain and cause us to overeat. That is why so many Americans are struggling with weight issues. Now we have a state-of-the-art product that is based in science and is so safe, it can be taken indefinitely. You can finally put a stop to the unhealthy yo-yo dieting you’ve experienced in the past and gain back a sense of feeling in control. I have every confidence that Willpower In A Bottle will not disappoint you.

Dear Dr. Carol,
I’ve noticed we have lots of B vitamins in our 10-in-ONE. Why so many?
Although the family of B vitamins was discovered together at the beginning of the 20th century, further study revealed that each compound plays a distinct role in promoting health.
B1, known as Thiamin, is needed for energy production, heart function and the health of the brain and nervous system.
B2, known as Riboflavin, facilitates the use of oxygen in the cells.
B3, known as Niacin or Niacinamide, is needed to metabolize food. Niacin has proven helpful in reducing arterial plaque, playing a key role in heart health.
B6, known as Pyridoxine, promotes red blood cell production and normal cellular growth.
Folic Acid, sometimes referred to as vitamin B9, is extremely important for proper brain function and plays a crucial role in mental and emotional health.
B12, known as Cyanocobalamin, is required for proper digestion and food absorption. Its role in memory and cognition is well established.
Biotin helps us maintain healthy skin and helps in cell growth. It can improve blood sugar control.
B5, known as Pantothenic Acid, helps immune function, energy generation and the body’s production of certain hormones.
Choline is considered by nutritional scientists to be part of the B family too. It is essential for the integrity of the myelin sheaths that cover and protect our nerves. It is important to fat metabolism.
10-in-ONE has a full complement of the entire family of B’s that are so protective and health enhancing.

Dear Dr. Carol,
I noticed you added digestive enzymes to 10-in-ONE? Most products don’t have that. Why are they important?
The old saying, “You are what you eat,” is not entirely true. You are what your body absorbs. Enzymes enhance the breakdown of food into nutrients the body can absorb and utilize. Digestive enzymes are manufactured by the body, but based on age, stress, health and food sensitivities some people are unable to produce sufficient amounts and require supplementation. Because digestion is the “hardest” work the body does, breaking down what we put into the body uses a great deal of energy. Enzymes support all life functions and are extremely important to health. 10-in-ONE’s proprietary blend of healthy enzymes is health enhancing and unique to our formulation.

Dear Dr. Carol,
I can’t seem to get motivated to exercise the way I know I should. Being overweight is partly to blame. How would you recommend I change my habits and decrease my health risks?

Bravo to you for addressing this issue. Being overweight is connected to many health risks and certainly losing the extra pounds is a laudable goal. But, weight management is not an easy battle. In fact, it seems that so many things in our society work against our accomplishing these goals. Processed foods, containing an over abundance of sugar, salt and fat, actually change brain chemistry and cause us to crave. Portion size in America is a challenge too. By consuming more calories than we need, we store body fat.
You asked what habits you could change to be able to reach higher levels of health. My first recommendation is to eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks each day. This pattern keeps blood sugar stable and allows the body to release stored body fat. Make sure your meals and snacks are comprised of lean protein, low glycemic carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables and healthy fats from olive oil, nuts and avocadoes.
Start exercising slowly. Don’t do more than your body will allow. You can always build up and increase time and intensity. Finally, take your 10-in-ONE regularly. You will not want to exercise if you are tired and have no energy. The sweet taste of the chewable will make you feel as if you are having a tasty treat, and the energy you get from your 10-in-ONE will motivate you to keep up with your exercise program. Good luck!

Dr. Carol,
I know that vitamin D is important to health, but then we are told that too much sun exposure is no good. What should we do?
You are correct about vitamin D being essential to good health. The body produces its own vitamin D from sun exposure. Vitamin D is immune enhancing and appears to play an important role in the prevention of osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, breast, prostate and colon cancers, hypertension, chronic fatigue, multiple sclerosis, decline in cognitive function and depression. Studies show that it increases survival rates in people with malignant melanomas.
Getting your vitamin D from the sun can be tricky because of the many different factors that influence the amount of vitamin D produced by the body. The angle of the sun’s rays, season, time of day, aging, use of sunscreen and pigmentation influence the body’s ability to produce vitamin D.
Important sources of vitamin D come from oily fish like salmon, sardines, mackerel, and fortified orange juice and dairy products. Since everyone has different food preferences and too much sun exposure can be harmful, I recommend a good way of avoiding deficiencies would be to supplement. GBG’s 10-in-ONE is a wonderful source of Cholecalciferol, the exact form of D the body produces. Obtaining your D from 10-in-ONE is a sensible way of insuring your daily intake.

Dr. Carol,
My question is about the “Sulfur-Rich” MSM. Should we be asking if someone is allergic to sulfur? Working in the medical field for the last 40 years, I’ve seen many people have allergic reactions to this substance. Would they then not be able to take 10-in-ONE?MSM is very different from sulfonamides, which are found in sulfa-based drugs. MSM is a naturally occurring compound found in the environment and every cell of the body. Sulfur is necessary for cellular production of enzymes, hormones anti-oxidants and antibodies. Many people may be allergic to sulfa drugs, but no reactions have ever been reported with MSM.

Dr. Carol,
I see that your new 10-in- ONE Chewable has Resveratrol. I’ve heard people talking about it, but don’t know what it is. What makes Resveratrol so special?

Resveratrol, found in red grapes and peanuts, is an extremely protective antioxidant. It activates the body’s own longevity enzyme and counters the effects of free radicals, shielding the cells from oxidative damage. It speeds up cellular repair and supports a healthy heart. It gives the body the power to fight back against environmental toxins we’re exposed to everyday.
